Targeted Blog Advertising through Federated Media
We are working on marketing our Everybody's a CEO Boot Camp program and trying out some interesting new tools. Today we bought some ad space on Guy Kawasaki's weblog through Federated Media. I'll keep you posted on our results….but this is a great new way to advertise. Find a blog whose readership matches your target audience. Develop an ad and purchase a number of impressions on that blog.
Here is our ad:
It links back to the information page for the ECEO Boot Camp.
To test performance, we've purchased 10,000 impressions on Guy Kawasaki's blog and on 43 Folders. I wanted to buy space on the Small Business Trends blog but it was sold out.
The costs run from $10 to $20 CPM. I will keep you posted on how it is working.

Thanks for buying the space on my blog. Can I make an observation?
I looked at your ad, and it's not obvious to me that you're advertising a conference. The only hint is the word “register,” but even that's pretty esoteric.
I think that you should make it clear that this is an ad for a conference.
Thanks,
Guy

We are making the change and will be doing another round of advertising.
