I love BlogJet
Tuesday, April 5th, 2005BlogJet is unquestionably the best
tool I have found since I started blogging. I can right click on
anything and post it to any of the half dozen blogs I regularly publish
to. This has already saved a ton of time and I’ve only been using it
for a few days. The formatting options work perfectly and the
spellcheck is really what I’ve been waiting for (tried using other
clients but without spellcheck which forced me to very carefully
proofread or dump things into Word before posting).
- I love that I can add bullets on the fly without having to type in HTML tags
- I love that I can add color on the fly without having to know that blue is #0000ff
- I love that I can switch between blogs from a drop down
- I love that I can choose multiple categories by checking them off in a list
- I
love that I now don’t have to use Internet Explorer to post to my
Movable Type blogs since the formatting buttons don’t show up in Firefox - I
love that when I embed a link in a post I can choose whether it should
open in the same window or a new window without having to code target=_ - I
really love that when I attach a file in BlogJet it shows up on my
Blogware blog as an embedded link instead of forcing readers to hunt
for the “attachment” link at the bottom of the entry then figure out
that they need to click on the paper clip icon then click on the name
of the file to download. Blogware not only makes things easier for
me it makes things easier for my readers!
I could go on and on.
I am using BlogJet on Windows XP
to post to blogs on Otter Group’s own Movable Type installation and to
our Blogware blogs. It works beautifully for both.
I think it’s
pretty funny that the spellchecker doesn’t have the following words in
its dictionary: blogging, blogs, HTML, Firefox, BlogJet, Blogware.
