Enterprise RSS
We are introducing a new offering from the Otter Group called Ping
Enterprise. This is our comprehensive approach to building high
performance learning and information networks using the newest Internet
communications technologies.
We start by analyzing an organization's business information and the
learning needs of its employees and/or customers. Based on this
analysis we then design and build a network by matching needs with the
newest information and learning management tools. We then work with the
IT department to integrate new technologies seamlessly into existing
systems. We also train knowledge workers to use the new tools and
systems. The result: improved processes, increased productivity and
better business results.
Ping Enterprise uses a technology built on an application server that
enables administrators and users to easily specify what information
gets routed to whom and how. One of the great things about this new
approach is that can incorporate existing databases and information
sources and also integrate peer-to-peer publishing tools like weblogs
and wikis. Ping Enterprise can also incorporate RSS radars that are
search engines that track information by key word. Ping's aggregator
routinely polls the databases, weblogs, radars, and news feeds to see
if anything new has been added. New information is pulled into the
aggregator and then re-distributed to target audiences, including
customers. Administrators control the routing; users personalize what
they read.
